Happy New Year! 2012 is here and I am ecstatic. I really like new beginnings, New Week, New Month so of course the New Year is awesome to me. We are going to unveil some really exciting things over the next few months. First up, is a monthly challenge. A few months ago we asked you on our Smart Money Chicks Facebook Page and on Twitter would you like to do a monthly challenge. We received a resounding Yes. So, it is here our first Challenge.
Track Your Spending for 30 days. The truth is any financial goal you make should start with finding out where your money goes. If you are looking to save more money. You need to find out where you are spending your money. If you want to stop using your credit cards and start paying of your debt, tracking your spending will show you where you are coming up short each month and where you can free up cash to pay off your debt.
For the next 30 days, write down everything you spend money on. Every cent, dime, dollar, it really is the best way to jump start your Financial Goals for the new year. You can use a small notebook that you carry around with you in your purse or you can use my favorite resource Mint.com- free personal finance software .
Are you up for the Challenge?
We would love to know your progress so be sure to leave a comment and let us know you are up for the Challenge.
Andrea is the Chief Chick of Smart Money Chicks. After filing BK twice (once because she panicked, second time because the pro messed the first time up), she realized that it all could have been avoided if she understood more about how her Finances worked and the options available. At that point, she wanted to help as many as she could never make the same mistakes again. Our Promise is that all the content you read on here is created or edited by Andrea

I will be participating in this challenge as well as letting my readers know about this! Great idea! Plus, I need to be more mindful of my money in 2012. 🙂
