As you go through life, you will face many ups and downs. How you handle each obstacle will become an event that defines you. The key to success lies in your ability to stay motivated in the good times and in the hard times. Your source of motivation – or lack thereof – comes from three main sources: the outside, your family and yourself. When you find a strong balance of these sources, you will be able to move forward in your business dreams.
Motivation from Others
This means motivation from sources other than your family and friends. People dedicate their lives to creating these sources of motivation for you. Motivational videos books and posters are a few of the ways that you can receive the motivation you need. Whether it’s your favorite work of fiction or a true account from another successful businesswoman, finding these outside sources enable you to move forward in your life and in your career.
Motivation from Family & Friends
This type of motivation isn’t certain or required. Unfortunately, many people have to work to reach their dreams all by themselves. But if you’re lucky enough to have support from those closest to you, cherish it. Most people won’t understand your dreams. You want to do something great, something huge, something that people will love. You want to open a clothing store, local coffee cafe or even your very own, pizza franchise. These are all great dreams to pursue. It’s okay that they don’t understand it, and if they show their support despite their lack of understanding, cherish it. If they don’t support your decision to move forward with your dreams, do it anyway. Let their lack of support motivate you to success.
Motivation from Yourself
Ultimately, you can have countless amount of support from outside sources, but if you don’t motivate yourself you are destined to fail. Nobody else can reach your dreams for you. Just as you must take the responsibility of reaching success, you must take responsibility for motivating yourself to it. This can be as simply as clearing your mind ever morning through yoga, joining a local club with likeminded businesswomen, or even making a vision board.
This isn’t the early 1900s. Women can do everything men can do, and usually better. It will take hard work, but with the proper amount of motivation you can become successful. The only thing really standing in the way of your dreams is you. Shake of any doubt and move forward triumphantly. It will be a difficult road, but it’s nothing that you cannot overcome.
